AI Engineer – LLM Applications & Automation

About the role

We’re looking for an AI Engineer to build and improve AI-powered tools that solve real business problems. You’ll work with large language models (LLMs) to automate workflows, process business information, and help teams access and use data more effectively.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can take an idea from an initial prototype through testing and into reliable day-to-day use. You’ll work closely with business teams to understand their needs, design practical solutions, and improve them based on real results.

What you’ll do

* Design, build, and maintain AI agents and multi-step automation workflows.

* Connect LLMs to business data, internal systems, and external APIs.

* Extract and organize information from emails, documents, and other unstructured sources.

* Develop prompts, agent instructions, and structured outputs, including JSON.

* Test AI solutions for accuracy, reliability, and cost, and improve them over time.

* Build evaluation datasets and practical checks to identify errors and prevent regressions.

* Explore new AI tools and open-source technologies, and recommend those that offer clear value.

* Work with business teams to understand processes and turn them into useful AI solutions.

* Document your work so that solutions can be maintained and improved by the team.

What we’re looking for

* At least two years of experience in software development or data science.

* Strong Python skills and experience building applications that use APIs.

* Practical experience with LLM applications, AI agents, or LLM-powered automation.

* Experience with prompt design and structured outputs such as JSON.

* The ability to test your work, investigate unexpected results, and improve reliability.

* Good communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote team.

It would be a plus if you have

* Experience with Node.js, JavaScript, or TypeScript.

* Experience with agent frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph.

* Experience evaluating LLM applications with tools such as promptfoo or similar.

* Experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and vector databases.

* A background in machine learning or data analysis.

What success looks like

* AI workflows reliably support real business processes.

* Outputs are checked and evaluated, and common errors are reduced over time.

* Solutions are useful to the people who rely on them and have a clear, measurable benefit.

* The team can understand, maintain, and improve the systems you build.
