Business Development Specialist (Junior–Mid Level)

Reports to: Business Development Manager

Job Summary

You will establish relationships with potential customers through research and communication, from first contact and on. You will fully realize the prospect and organization’s needs and determine how FranklinCovey can provide value. In turn, this will be presented to the prospect through a variety of methods.

Essential Job Functions

• Key initiator of new business development targeting medium to large sized accounts for strategic penetration;
• Independently calls on mid to senior-level executives and other representatives to generate product, program, and consulting sales;
• Diagnoses and assesses client needs.
• Prescribes, designs and implements strategic interventions using the full range of existing or custom Franklin Covey content, products, and / or programs;
• Presents and provides individual client consultations in context with overall intervention strategy as needed;
• Writes and oversees effective business proposals;
• Closes business consistently within the Franklin Covey guidelines developed for product and services mix and pricing;
• Designs custom programs and tailors standard programs to meet individual client needs;
• Designs account strategy and business development to develop new and existing accounts;
• Develops and executes on territory marketing and management plan to meet and exceed monthly revenue targets.
• Create an on-going business development and brand awareness strategy for a list of target organizations utilizing assets and experiences created by corporate marketing
• Research target organizations, decision makers, and influencers to create prospecting strategies
• Utilize a combination of calls, emails, social media, marketing, and automated systems to contact engaged prospects
• Schedule exploratory meetings between clients and Sales Executive to move opportunities forward
• Assists in implementation of development programs through follow-up on action plans
• Preparing and administering assessment tools

Preferred Experience

1-5 years working in a business development, sales, marketing, learning and development or lead generation role.
