Position Summary

The Finance & Accounting Specialist is responsible for establishing and maintaining compliant financial operations for the newly established Serbian manufacturing entity. The role serves as the local finance expert, ensuring compliance with Serbian accounting, tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements while supporting the implementation of the company's global finance processes and standards.

During the start-up phase, the position will have a broad scope covering accounting, financial reporting, statutory compliance, controlling activities, budgeting support, and coordination with external service providers, auditors, tax advisors, and governmental authorities.

The role acts as the primary local finance contact for management and Group Finance, helping to build a sustainable financial framework that supports future business growth.

Key responsibilities:

Accounting & Financial Operations

• Ensure day-to-day accounting activities in compliance with Serbian accounting standards and local statutory requirements in SAP.
• Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions and maintenance of accounting records.
• Review and validate accounting entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Ensure timely month-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Support the implementation and alignment of local accounting processes with Group accounting policies and IFRS requirements.

Statutory Compliance & Regulatory Requirements

• Ensure compliance with Serbian accounting, tax, VAT, and corporate reporting requirements.
• Coordinate preparation and submission of statutory reports and filings.
• Act as the key contact for local authorities, tax offices, auditors, and external advisors.
• Ensure compliance with all legal, financial, and regulatory obligations applicable to the Serbian entity.
• Proactively identify regulatory changes and assess their impact on the business

Controlling & Financial Analysis

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial performance reports.
• Monitor operational costs, investments, and spending against budget.
• Support plant management with financial analyses and business insights.
• Assist in the preparation of management reports and KPI reporting.

Internal Controls & Governance

• Implement and maintain internal control procedures in line with Group requirements.
• Support compliance with CSOX and other corporate governance frameworks where applicable.
• Ensure proper documentation and audit trails for all financial transactions.
• Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation measures.

Audit & External Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate internal and external audit activities.
• Prepare required documentation and responses to audit requests.
• Support the establishment of efficient financial and administrative processes during the plant start-up phase

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 2-3+ years of experience in complex accounting, controlling, finance, or audit.
• Practical knowledge of Serbian accounting, tax, VAT, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Prior experience in a Big Four firm is considered a strong asset.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
• Good to have understanding of manufacturing cost structures (materials, labor, overhead, tooling).
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and business orientation.
• Comfortable working in a global matrix organization with cross-functional teams.
• Fluent in English; additional languages (e.g. German,) are an advantage.
• Experience with SAP (especially FI modul) is highly preferred. Knowledge of SAP CO, MM, and Asset Accounting (AA) is an advantage.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
