Job Purpose

Responsible for leading, supervising, and coordinating architectural design, 3D modeling, and drafting activities for major offshore EPC projects, including HVDC platforms, offshore wind facilities, FPSO/FSO facilities, and other offshore oil and gas projects. Ensure the development of accurate, functional, safe, and constructible architectural layouts, general arrangement drawings, accommodation arrangements, interior layouts, and associated design deliverables in accordance with approved engineering specifications, applicable international standards, and project requirements. Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure effective integration of architectural design within offshore facilities while meeting project quality, safety, operational, and schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate architectural design, 3D modeling, and drafting activities for major offshore EPC projects, ensuring compliance with approved engineering specifications, project requirements, and applicable international standards.
• Lead the development and review of architectural 3D models, including accommodation modules, control buildings, equipment enclosures, living quarters, utility spaces, and other architectural facilities within offshore structures.
• Develop and review architectural general arrangement drawings, floor plans, elevations, sections, partition layouts, ceiling plans, door and window schedules, and interior finishing details based on approved engineering inputs.
• Coordinate with Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Piping, Fire Protection, and other engineering disciplines to ensure proper integration of architectural elements within the overall facility design.
• Review architectural engineering specifications, space allocation requirements, accommodation standards, equipment layouts, and approved design criteria to ensure accurate incorporation into architectural drawings and 3D models.
• Conduct and participate in multidisciplinary 3D model reviews, engineering design reviews, and clash detection exercises to identify and resolve architectural design conflicts and engineering interface issues.
• Ensure architectural layouts adequately consider personnel accessibility, emergency escape routes, fire safety requirements, maintenance access, space utilization, ergonomics, and offshore operational constraints.
• Coordinate with Architectural and Safety Engineers to incorporate approved fire-rated divisions, insulation requirements, escape arrangements, compartmentation, and other safety-related requirements into architectural design documentation.
• Review and verify architectural design deliverables, including general arrangement drawings, accommodation layouts, partition details, door and window schedules, finishing schedules, and material take-offs for accuracy and completeness.
• Provide technical guidance to designers in resolving complex architectural layout challenges, congested offshore spaces, multidisciplinary interface issues, and construction-related design constraints.
• Coordinate with fabrication, construction, and installation teams to ensure architectural designs are practical, constructible, and compatible with modular fabrication, outfitting, and offshore installation requirements.
• Support procurement and material management teams through the timely preparation and verification of architectural material take-offs, bills of materials, finishing schedules, and relevant design documentation.

Education

• Diploma or Higher Diploma in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Architectural Design, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a relevant discipline would be an advantage.
• Professional training or certification in AVEVA E3D/PDMS, AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent architectural design and modeling software would be preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in architectural design and drafting, preferably within offshore oil and gas, HVDC platforms, offshore wind, marine, or major EPC projects.
• At least 3–5 years of experience leading or supervising architectural designers, draftsmen, and 3D modeling teams.

Key Competencies

• Extensive knowledge of architectural design, offshore accommodation layouts, interior arrangements, architectural detailing, and offshore EPC design practices.
• Advanced proficiency in architectural design and 3D modeling software such as AVEVA E3D/PDMS, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, or equivalent engineering applications.
• Strong understanding of architectural general arrangement drawings, floor plans, elevations, sections, partition layouts, interior finishing details, and material take-offs.
• Knowledge of offshore architectural components, including accommodation modules, living quarters, control rooms, equipment enclosures, fire-rated partitions, doors, ceilings, flooring, and insulation systems.
• Understanding of architectural space planning, ergonomics, personnel accessibility, maintenance requirements, and emergency evacuation arrangements.
• Working knowledge of applicable SOLAS, IMO, DNV, ISO, relevant fire safety standards, and project-specific architectural requirements, as applicable.
• Knowledge of fire-rated divisions, passive fire protection, thermal and acoustic insulation, smoke containment, and offshore safety requirements.
• Ability to conduct 3D model reviews, clash detection, and multidisciplinary engineering coordination.
• Understanding of offshore modular construction, architectural fabrication, accommodation outfitting, installation, and commissioning requirements.
