Opis
Drydocks World is expanding to Serbia!
We are establishing a new Engineering Project Support Centre in Belgrade , creating exciting opportunities for talented Serbian engineers to contribute to major global EPC, FPSO, Offshore Oil & Gas, and HVDC projects.
If you are interested in working on world-class projects while helping build a new engineering hub from the ground up, we would love to hear from you.
Job Purpose
Responsible for leading, coordinating, and supervising piping layout and design activities for major offshore EPC projects, including HVDC platforms, FPSO/FSO facilities, offshore structures, and other oil and gas projects. Ensure the development of accurate, safe, efficient, and constructible piping layouts, 3D models, general arrangement drawings, and associated design deliverables in accordance with project specifications, applicable international standards, and engineering requirements. Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure effective integration of piping systems within the overall facility design while meeting project quality, schedule, and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate piping layout and design activities for major offshore EPC projects, ensuring compliance with approved engineering specifications, project requirements, and applicable international standards.
- Develop and review piping layouts and routing arrangements, considering operational accessibility, maintenance requirements, constructability, safety, and efficient utilization of available space.
- Lead the development, review, and coordination of 3D piping models using relevant engineering design software, including AVEVA E3D/PDMS, SP3D, or equivalent applications.
- Coordinate with Piping, Process, Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, HVAC, and other engineering disciplines to ensure proper integration of piping systems within the overall facility design.
- Review Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), equipment layouts, piping specifications, and engineering inputs to ensure accurate incorporation of design requirements into piping layouts and models.
- Conduct and participate in 3D model reviews, interdisciplinary design reviews, and clash detection exercises to identify and resolve piping layout conflicts and engineering interface issues.
- Ensure piping layouts adequately consider equipment accessibility, maintenance clearances, pipe support requirements, lifting arrangements, escape routes, and offshore operational constraints.
- Coordinate with Piping Stress Engineers and Structural Engineering teams to incorporate piping flexibility, pipe support locations, load requirements, and stress analysis recommendations into piping layouts.
- Review and verify piping design deliverables, including piping general arrangement drawings, isometrics, pipe support details, material take-offs, and model-generated documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Provide technical guidance to designers in resolving complex piping routing challenges, congested layouts, equipment interfaces, and installation constraints.
- Coordinate with construction, fabrication, and installation teams to ensure piping designs are practical, constructible, and aligned with modular fabrication and offshore installation requirements.
- Support procurement and material management teams by ensuring timely preparation and verification of piping material take-offs and relevant design documentation.
Education
- Diploma or Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Design, or a related engineering discipline.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant discipline would be an advantage.
- Professional training or certification in AVEVA E3D/PDMS, SP3D, or equivalent piping design software would be preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in piping layout and design, preferably within offshore oil and gas, FPSO, HVDC platform, or major EPC projects.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in leading or supervising piping designers and 3D modeling teams.
Key Competencies
- Extensive knowledge of piping layout design, equipment arrangements, pipe routing, and offshore piping design practices.
- Advanced proficiency in AVEVA E3D/PDMS, SP3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, or equivalent piping design and 3D modeling applications.
- Strong understanding of P&IDs, piping specifications, piping general arrangement drawings, isometrics, and material take-offs.
- Knowledge of applicable piping design codes and standards, including ASME B31.3, relevant API standards, and project-specific requirements.
- Understanding of piping stress, thermal expansion, pipe support arrangements, and piping flexibility requirements.
- Knowledge of offshore platform layouts, FPSO modules, equipment accessibility, maintenance clearances, and construction constraints.
- Ability to conduct 3D model reviews, clash detection, and multidisciplinary design coordination.
- Knowledge of piping fabrication, modular construction, installation sequences, and offshore commissioning requirements.
- Strong technical leadership, design coordination, problem-solving, and team supervision capabilities.
