Role Overview:

The Logistics Specialist supports the planning, coordination, management, and continuous improvement of logistics operations. The role helps ensure a smooth and efficient flow of goods and information across transportation, warehousing, inventory, and delivery processes.

Acting as a key interface between internal teams, locations, suppliers, and external logistics and transportation partners, the Logistics Specialist contributes to reliable logistics operations, cost optimization, and continuous improvement of service quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and implement local logistics processes in Serbia, covering transport, warehousing, inbound and outbound logistics, delivery and related operational processes;
• Develop and optimize the Serbian logistics network in cooperation with HORNBACH's international logistics organization;
• Build and coordinate cooperation with transport companies, 3PL providers and other logistics partners, including transport capacity and delivery performance;
• Negotiate cost-efficient inbound and outbound logistics solutions and support regional transport tenders;
• Coordinate day-to-day logistics activities and ensure an efficient flow of goods, proactively identifying and resolving operational issues;
• Support Purchasing and E-Business on logistics-related topics, including logistics costs, import duties and Webshop delivery processes;
• Establish and monitor logistics KPIs, analyze performance and define measures for improvement;
• Drive continuous improvement of logistics processes through standardization, digitalization and automation;
• Ensure local logistics processes comply with HORNBACH Group standards and relevant local requirements and regulations.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• University degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field;
• Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, or a similar operational role;
• Good understanding of core logistics processes, including transportation, warehousing, Webshop/Fulfillment, and logistics service provider management;
• Good knowledge of local logistics processes in Serbia, including customs and import procedures, transportation requirements, and relevant local regulations;
• Strong analytical skills and confidence working with KPIs, structured data, and performance monitoring;
• Good understanding of ERP/TMS systems; experience with digital logistics tools is an advantage;
• Fluency in Serbian and English is required; German is a plus;
• Hands-on, proactive, and independent working style, with the ability to quickly understand complex topics and drive practical solutions;
• Strong communication and coordination skills when working with suppliers, freight forwarders, 3PL providers, and internal stakeholders;
• Team player with a customer-focused and improvement-oriented mindset, comfortable working in an international environment.
