Quarry Supervisor

Due to the growth of our operations and the expansion of our team, we are looking for a Quarry Supervisor to oversee day-to-day quarry operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable extraction activities while supporting a reliable raw material supply to the plant.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Quarry Operations & Extraction Performance

• Supervise daily quarry operations to achieve production, quality, and cost targets.
• Monitor extraction activities, equipment utilization, material flow, stockpiles, and inventory levels.
• Adjust daily tasks, equipment allocation, and work priorities to meet operational requirements.
• Ensure quarry activities comply with extraction plans, permits, and operating procedures.
• Monitor production volumes, material quality, waste generation, and operational efficiency.
• Prepare operational and production reports to identify issues and improvement opportunities.

Continuous Improvement & Resource Optimization

• Identify operational improvement opportunities to increase productivity, resource efficiency, and extraction performance.
• Support implementation of improvement initiatives and corrective actions.
• Monitor equipment performance and escalate recurring operational issues.

Quality, Safety, Health & Environment (QSHE)

• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Promote hazard identification, near-miss reporting, and corrective action implementation.
• Support environmental protection and quarry rehabilitation activities.
• Ensure safe execution of quarry operations and material handling activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, and Plant teams to ensure reliable raw material supply.
• Support alignment between quarry output and plant requirements.

Team & Contractor Management

• Coordinate and supervise quarry personnel and subcontractors.
• Ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to agreed standards.
• Train and coach employees on operating procedures, safety requirements, and equipment practices.
• Foster teamwork, accountability, and operational discipline.

Education

Technical Vocational training in Mining Engineering, Minerals Engineering or similar discipline

Experience

• 1+ years of experience in quarry operations.
• Up to 1 year of experience in people management.
• Planning, permitting and operational experience in quarrying operations would be an advantage.

Knowledge and skills

• Good knowledge of quarry operations, extraction activities, drilling, blasting, and material handling.
• Understanding of quarry exploitation, raw material quality, and production requirements.
• Ability to monitor production output, equipment performance, and material flow.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to enforce safe quarry practices.
• Understanding of environmental and regulatory requirements related to quarry operations.
• Ability to coordinate subcontractors and internal operational teams.
• Practical problem-solving skills for daily quarry deviations.
• Good planning, prioritization, and reporting capabilities.
• Ability to train and guide operators in standard procedures.
• Strong communication skills across quarry, plant, and support functions.
• Excellent command of both oral and written local language and English is required.
