Role Description The Registered Nurse role is a full-time, on-site position based in Niš. The nurse will provide direct patient care before and after eye examinations and surgical procedures, including preparing patients, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with diagnostic and treatment processes. Responsibilities include administering prescribed medications, supporting ophthalmologists in minor procedures, maintaining sterile technique, and following infection control protocols. The nurse will also educate patients about pre- and post-operative instructions, document care in medical records, coordinate with the surgical and administrative teams, and contribute to a safe, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license and completed nursing education (vocational, associate, or bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent).
• Clinical skills in patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, and basic nursing procedures in an outpatient or hospital setting.
• Experience or strong interest in ophthalmology, including care around eye diagnostics, pre-operative, and post-operative support.
• Knowledge of infection control, sterile technique, and safe handling of medical equipment and supplies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
• Ability to follow clinical protocols, maintain accurate medical documentation, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and ethical standards of nursing practice.
• Basic computer skills for electronic health records; familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial.
• Previous experience in surgical, ophthalmology, or specialized clinical units is an advantage.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training in eye care procedures and technologies.
