Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Within the Manufacturing Engineering department and the Devex team, the Senior Software Engineer works in an international and multicultural environment, contributing to the design, development, testing and maintenance of the Devex PLM solution and its modules.

Reporting to an Engineering Team Lead, you will turn requirements into working code and implement solutions under the supervision of the Software Architect. You will follow development best practices and continuously improve quality standards to ensure maintainability and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct systems and requirements analysis to identify project action items.
• Contribute to task lists, cost estimates and time estimates to support project planning.
• Analyze specifications and user requirements and translate them into application solutions.
• Contribute to system component design to meet requirements.
• Design, develop, test and document application software.
• Participate in design and code reviews to improve quality.
• Develop unit and BDD tests to deliver quality components.
• Perform testing and fixes to ensure compliance with functional requirements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for project teams and stakeholders.
• Perform application maintenance and support activities to support problem resolution.
• Identify and raise issues to support effective resolution.
• Monitor assignment deviations and contribute to their resolution.
• Mentor and support the development of more junior team members.

Technical skills

• Ability to build applications from the ground up while following and defining best practices.
• Experience with C#, .NET Framework, Webforms, ASP.NET MVC, JavaScript and jQuery.
• Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of REST API development techniques and best practices.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum, TDD and BDD.
• Experience working with distributed teams across regions and time zones.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Detailed, critical, quality-oriented and skeptical thinking about the product.

Desirable

• GIT and Azure DevOps.
• Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery techniques and practices.

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an IT-related field.
• 5+ years of experience developing browser-based software applications in .NET architecture.

Language and Travel

• Fluent English or a minimum B2 level.
• Domestic and occasional international travel may be required.

Location: Belgrade or Nis, Serbia
