Embedded Software Development Engineer

Quectel Wireless Solutions is a global IoT technology developer and cellular module supplier of 5G, LTE, LTE-A, LPWA, Smart Modules, C-V2X, GSM/GPRS, UMTS/HSPA(+), GNSS, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth technologies. Due to business expansion on the Serbian market and the growth of our R&D Centre, Quectel is looking for motivated and proactive candidates to join our team in Belgrade.

ON-SITE , Monday - Friday, with flexible start between 7:30 - 9:30 AM.

We are looking for: Embedded Software Development Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, maintain, and customize embedded software applications, firmware, and system-level software based on customer-specific product requirements.
• Support and integrate BSP configuration, Embedded Linux, device drivers, peripheral interfaces, and hardware-software integration.
• Troubleshoot network protocols, connectivity, and 2G/4G/5G modem-related issues using system logs, diagnostic tools, and protocol analysis.
• Perform software debugging, root-cause analysis, integration testing, and system validation to ensure product functionality, stability, and reliability.
• Develop and customize demonstration applications, sample code, and proof-of-concept solutions based on internal and external customer requirements.
• Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting instructions, integration assistance, and software usage recommendations to customers.
• Collaborate with internal R&D, hardware, and product engineering teams, as well as external technology partners, to resolve complex technical issues and improve product quality.
• Prepare and maintain technical reports, debugging findings, patch notes, application guides, and troubleshooting documentation.
• Undertake domestic and international business travel when required to perform on-site debugging, resolve critical technical issues, and support customer integration activities.
• Other tasks assigned by the immediate superior, in line with the employee’s position, qualifications, and scope of work.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Experience in embedded software development and strong programming skills in C/C++.
• Good knowledge of Embedded Linux and BSP configuration.
• Understanding of device drivers, peripheral interfaces, and hardware-software integration.
• Knowledge of network protocols and wireless communication technologies.
• Experience in software debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally when required.
