Health & Safety Specialist

About the Position

Novo Global Services is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Specialist (H&S / HSE) for an upcoming infrastructure construction project in Serbia.

We are looking for a qualified professional with strong occupational health and safety experience in construction projects, particularly civil works, and proven experience on projects financed by International Financial Institutions (IFIs).

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor occupational health and safety requirements throughout project execution

• Conduct regular site inspections and identify potential health and safety risks

• Ensure construction activities are carried out in accordance with applicable H&S requirements, project procedures and contractual obligations

• Support the preparation, implementation and monitoring of Health & Safety plans, procedures and related documentation

• Conduct and/or coordinate risk assessments, safety inspections and toolbox meetings

• Monitor subcontractors' compliance with project H&S requirements

• Report H&S observations, incidents and non-conformities and follow up on corrective actions

• Coordinate with project management, site teams, subcontractors and other relevant parties on health and safety matters

• Promote a strong health and safety culture across the project site

Qualifications & Requirements

• University Degree (BSc or MSc) in Occupational Health & Safety, Civil Engineering, Environmental

Engineering or a related field

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in occupational health and safety on construction projects , preferably civil works

• Within the above experience, minimum 3 years of experience as a dedicated Health & Safety Specialist/Officer on projects financed by International Financial Institutions (IFIs)

• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety practices applicable to construction sites

• Experience in infrastructure and/or civil works projects is preferred

• Strong communication, coordination and reporting skills

• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary and international project team
