Senior Software Engineer

Speedata is modernizing analytics infrastructure with the first purpose-built ASIC processor, the Analytics Processing Unit (APU), for analytics and AI data workloads. Delivering up to 100x faster Apache Spark performance while cutting infrastructure TCO by 90%, the APU executes analytics operations directly in silicon with seamless integration and no code changes.

Speedata is looking for an Senior Software Engineer to design and develop core components of our high-performance data-processing platform.

In this hands-on role, you will work on runtime development, scheduling, parallel query execution, resource and memory management, and performance optimization. The position combines deep technical expertise, architectural ownership, and technical leadership.

Requirements

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Excellent hands-on programming skills in C++.
• Strong experience with system-level software, runtime development, or core infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of concurrency, multithreading, memory management, and performance analysis.
• Experience profiling, debugging, and optimizing complex software systems.
• Experience leading complex technical projects from design through implementation.

Nice to Have

• Experience with query execution engines, database internals, or hardware accelerators.
• Experience with distributed data-processing systems.
• Familiarity with C# or Java.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop core components of Speedata’s runtime system.
• Develop scheduling and resource-management mechanisms.
• Design and optimize parallel query execution.
• Improve system performance, scalability, reliability, and diagnostics.
• Analyze performance bottlenecks and optimize memory and compute utilization.
• Lead the architecture and implementation of critical components.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across software and hardware layers.
• Mentor engineers and promote high engineering standards.
• Collaborate closely with architecture, software, and hardware teams.
