Payroll Specialist

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll operations for our Serbian entity. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing in compliance with Serbian labor laws, tax regulations, social security requirements, and internal audit standards.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of Serbian payroll and tax regulations, together with practical experience using SAP Payroll.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing through SAP Payroll, including salaries, bonuses, allowances, deductions, overtime, shift payments, leave, bank transfers, and payslip distribution within legal or contractual deadlines.
• Calculate and process salary tax and social security contributions, prepare PPP-PD filings, and monitor changes to local tax thresholds and contribution bases.
• Monitor compliance with Serbia’s mandatory employment requirements for persons with disabilities, including IOSI reporting, required payments, and other legally permitted compliance arrangements.
• Calculate and manage accruals for retirement severance pay and administer supplementary pension schemes and long-term incentive plans, where applicable.
• Maintain SAP Payroll parameters and employee master data, acting as a key user for system upgrades, testing, and process automation.
• Support internal and external audits, communicate with relevant government authorities, and reconcile payroll records with the General Ledger.
• Manage long-term sick leave cases, including documentation verification and reimbursement claims through the National Health Insurance Fund (RFZO).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
• At least three years of experience in Serbian payroll processing.
• Previous experience with SAP Payroll is highly preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of Serbian Labor Law, payroll tax regulations, and social security requirements.
• Proficiency in using the CROSO portal and relevant Serbian tax administration systems.
• Fluency in Serbian and professional working proficiency in English for international reporting and communication.
